Technical background
Our e-Learning software is based on the Open-source content management system Typo3.
Typo3 has been developed in Denmark by Kasper Skårhøj and is being constantly improved by a huge number of contributors under the GPL licence all over the world.
Together with the experience in publishing and editing, Margraf Publishers is able to present e-Learning environments which are adaptable to almost every requirement.
For additional information on TYPO3, please visit www.typo3.com

e-Learning
… is an approach to facilitate and enhance learning based on both computer and communications technology.
MARGRAF Publishers has some five years of experience in converting training material into «Computer based» and «Web-based» trainings (CBTs and WBTs) which we have implemented for partners like
InWEnt and the
GTZ.
There are critical voices saying that face-to-face human interaction with a teacher has been removed from the process in an e-learning environment. However, we are encouraging these human interactions through tools such as web-conferencing and the attendance of a tutor –so our approach aims towards a student-centred learning solution.
Most of our trainings are not only based on exclusivly e-learning components but use combinations of distance learning with face-to-face educational resources (read more under «Blended Learning» below).
Blended Learning
The term «Blended Learning» describes our approach of combining several methods of learning and collaboration. Our trainings consist of:
- Asynchronous activities
…use tools such as blogs, pinboards, and discussion boards, and allow participants to contribute when time allows. - Synchronous activities
…occur with all participants joining in at once, as with a chat session or a virtual classroom or meeting - Face-to-face workshops
From our experience we can say that results from an e-Learning training are much more sustainable when gathering the participants or at least a peer group in a face-to-face workshop. Normally, an effective e-learning should start with a kick-off workshop before conveying the learning content through the web, allowing every participant to work at his/her own pace.
SCORM compatibility
Our trainings are following the standard for presenting e-learning content SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model)
SCORM is a collection of specifications that enable interoperability, accessibility and reusability of a web based learning content.
For more information on SCORM visit the official
«Advanced Distance Leaning» web site.
