This interactive multimedia CD-ROM presents a unique overview of some 400 plants cultivated by man. It is a digital encyclopedia compiled by botanists of the National Herbarium of the Netherlands and especially targeted at secundary schools, agricultural education, libraries and for those commercially interested. The information system on this CD-ROM offers various points of entry like: a commercial classification (trade product), a botanical classification (on the specific plant parts used) and a systematic classification. A handy interactive pictorial key helps to indentify the plants. For every plant in the database a short description, the types of use, and the geographic region where the species is grown is given. The CD-ROM holds over 1,200 quality illustrations of the plants, the used parts or products, and the crops. The distribution routes of the most importants crops are treated as well. The knowledge quiz makes it fun to learn to recognize the crops.
